About the lecture
Educational institutions operate within a complex legal framework that establishes quality standards, defines institutional responsibilities, and establishes accountability mechanisms for teaching and learning outcomes. While schools are tasked with providing quality education and fostering student development, they face intricate legal challenges concerning curriculum compliance, teacher qualification standards, student safety and welfare, and institutional liability for educational failures. The lecture addresses the intersection of education law and institutional accountability, analyzes legal mechanisms for ensuring educational quality standards set by national and international authorities, examines institutional responsibilities for student welfare, health, and safety, and explores liability frameworks for educational institutions in cases of negligence or breach of duty. Particular attention is given to the role of informed decision-making by educational administrators, documentation of educational processes and student progress in compliance with legal requirements, and dispute resolution mechanisms between educational institutions, students, parents, and regulatory authorities in different countries.
